My fastest systems crunch these typically between 5 to 6 hours. The older systems are anywhere between 10 to 20 hours. I think that's been the norm for this project for me. Oh, I did have two troublesome WUs. I haven't had a problem with those devices since.

Hello coolstream,
Are runtime averages falling despite the recent (much longer) units? Average daily runtime per result is up a bit from the overall average. You can find the basic stats in Statistics - By Projects - (DSFL). Then you have to bring up the Calculator app to crunch the numbers. Lawrence |

I have a large number of Valid WU (~300) to do some useful stats.
----------------------------------------The average is around 8 hours CPU time per WU. It variates between 7 to 9hrs. There are some exceptions. The longest is a WU that made 19.17 hrs of CPU time and was rewarded at 474 points (requested 453) which is fair. There is another with 15 hours and a few at 10. There is a good stability overall. A small additional comment. I checked the PV WU's (~180) and they have a somewhat longer average. Much more are over 10 hrs (12, 13, 15, 17 etc..). The total average would then be more about 9 hrs. It could be that the CPU runtime is slowly increasing after all. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hypernova at Sep 13, 2011 7:00:40 AM] |

Hyper-threaded devices?
The project stats of daily task means: 8,24674 6th 9,00971 7th 9,54642 8th 9,93486 9th 9,44625 10th 8,78794 11th 8,69351 12th The numbers speak for themselves and whilst some have trouble finding my chart, the lite blue line does tell the same tale, identically. Doing target 11, batch 49 now. The last dozen target 10 all finished sub 7 hours, through batch 57. --//-- |

I'll vote for things looking better because people have stopped crunching DSFL WUs. I pulled the plug on it a few days ago, finished the WUs I had and moved back to C4CW. I haven't returned a DSFL result since 1400 on the 11th.
----------------------------------------I was seeing a six hour gap between CPU time and elapsed time on DSFL. My machines routinely finish a C4CW WU in that same six hour time. Seems better to use the time this way. Of the DSFL WUs that I have returned, I'm still waiting on a wingman for one from 9/2 and several from 9/6 and 9/7. Rick |

I'll vote for things looking better because people have stopped crunching DSFL WUs. ... Rick I stopped a couple of machines after seeing some painful run times: 16 hours on a Core i3 laptop and 30+ hours on an Atom netbook. |

With people taking their machines off of DSFL, I hope they are letting the WUs finish or purging the ones they do not want to run. I do not want to see the WUs back up in PV until the time due is reached. The last three WUs I have in PV have CPU times of 10.13, 11.61, and 12.64.

My I7 920 (with HT) is running up to 15 hours on units.
----------------------------------------My 2600K (only running 2 units at a time cuz of heat issues) is running them in 3 to 5 hours. Wondering if the 10 gig RAM disk is helping them at all... should check the dif of elapsed time vs CPU time when i get home. |
